It's Good to Be Back

Wow, who knew one could be so sick?! I'm still left with a gnarly cough but my head and body actually functions now. I forgot what that felt like. I'm so thankful my family didn't get this bug, and I pray no one else ever does.

Well, before my world was rocked, I had the privilege of speaking to Visalia's Team in Training group that is training for "America's Most Beautiful Ride". It's a Century ride around Lake Tahoe in June - Looks amazing! I got to talk to them about nutrition so that they could optimally fuel themselves during their training and during the event. A very fun group of people to meet. Thank you for having me!

Immediately after that, a big shipment of Cookie+Curly bird mobiles went out to Baby Itra in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Here's a little peak at some of the birds now hanging out in the Middle East.

I love thinking about Cookie+Curly being enjoyed way on the opposite side of the world as me!

That reminds me, I'm thinking it would be fun to put together a map of where all the Cookie+Curly products land. Let me know where you are and I'll be sure to put you on the map!

It's good to be back.

Fevers Bite

In true blogging fashion I was going to take a picture of the gigantic mound of used tissues stacked up next to my bed in order to share with you what's been going on with Cookie+Curly. I quickly decided I'd just let you know... I'm sick.

Never have I experienced a fever of 103, and I hope I never do again.

I will get back to you later with stuff that's actually fun to read, but for those of you wondering why I haven't been posting anything, now you know.

Thank you, Honey, for taking such good care of me and the kids over these last few, brutal days.

Going WAY East + Duo to Trio+ Enjoying the Bean

{Going WAY East}

A fun announcement:

Cookie+Curly will soon be sold in a boutique baby store in... wait for it... SAUDI ARABIA! The store owner found my mobiles online and decided she had to have them for her shop. So, I'm burning the midnight oil once again to fulfill her order in time for her freighter to depart the Bay Area at the end of the month. I'm so excited!

{Duo to Trio}
A recent custom order request was to duplicate this mobile:
And put it on a branch like this:
But add one more bird. Well, here you go, Cindy:

Just ask and ye shall receive. I LOVE custom orders!

{Enjoying the Bean}

Some of you have asked about protein ideas for snacks. Well, here's one I made/ate today with the kids. We call them "Garbanzo Nuts".

Preheat the oven to 325F. Drain/Rinse garbanzo beans. Toss with olive oil, sea salt, dried herb of choice, and ground black pepper.

Place in a single layer on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.

Place in oven and toss every 10 minutes. Once they get a good golden color (almost a light brown) they are ready - about 40 minutes.

This process basically dehydrates them a bit to make them into an easy, pop-in-your-mouth source of protein, fiber, antioxidants, and plenty of minerals. Enjoy!
