Holiday Hoopla 2010!

It's that time of year again... You start thinking about all the people you love, and all the things you'd love to give them. Your list grows. You feel thankful for all the people in your life. You make new friends. You add them to the list. And next thing you know, it's December and you're making a mad dash to get random gifts that sort of match your friends but mostly you're in a rush and you just need to get things done.

Been there. Done that. Don't want to do it again.

And, I know you say it every year ("I'm going to start early this year") but this year should be THE year. The year when you start shopping in November for gifts. (If you're one of those people that shops throughout the year - good for you! You're weird. No, you're not. I do that. But not for everybody and I do tend to scramble right before Christmas.)

Soooo, come to Holiday Hoopla 2010 and bring your friends.

WHO: You and all the people you can rally
WHAT: Boutique of local ladies and their hard work (plus tasty apps and sparkly drinks)
WHERE: 4590 Wavertree Street, SLO 93401
WHEN: Thursday (11/4) 6-9pm AND Friday (11/5) 9-11am
WHY: Your gift and wish lists are getting longer and longer

Christmas really is upon us, so think local and get shopping. There will be a lot of talent and some "non-handmade" companies there too:

Welcome Baby Sydney Lillian!

Ribbon Blankie, Stroller Blanket and Personalized Card
Many congratulations go out to Julia and Wiley on the birth of their first child, Sydney Lillian! This colorful print by Erin McMorris matches the parent's style and grace, and is a reminder that every day is a bright celebration with their new daughter. The Beckers, and Cookie+Curly, wish you many blessings and lots of laughter.

AND, this print coordinates with the birds already hanging in the nursery...

Welcome to a wonderful family, Sydney Lillian.

The Newest Bird Family

Paul, Samantha, Conner and Kara

Say "Hello" to Paul (dad), Samantha (daughter), Conner (brother), and Kara (mom). Their living- and family-rooms are muted colors such as brown, muled wine, and mossy green - Rather than choosing to have these birds blend in, they are going to make a subtle statement as they adorn a corner of the room!

The fabric was chosen to match each personality:

Paul is sophisticated and active. Samantha, the younger sister, is bright, red-headed, sparky, and fun. Conner, 13 years old, is growing up to be a handsome and intelligent young man. And Mama Kara (known to some as "Aunt Beautiful") has a huge heart for her whole family and she lights up the room with her colorful and exciting personality.

Another baby is being treated to Cookie+Curly matching stroller blanket and ribbon blankie! Elegant. Bright. Rich in style. More on this tomorrow.

Oh, Canada!

Oh, Canada!

These birds are mid-flight, making their way up to Emily in Montreal, Canada! Currently with a little girl and hoping for more, Emily chose a gender-neutral fabric bundle for her 2-bird mobile. Her style is sophisticated yet playful. These birds will have tired wings - Emily, be on the lookout!

On a separate topic, my creativity got the best of me this weekend and I came up with a whole new product to offer Cookie+Curly fans! I am incredibly excited to share it with you, but not yet. I need a little time to make more, so I appreciate your patience.

Be sure to check here daily for more pictures, more products, and more fun.

It's a Fabric Affair (featuring The Cottonball, Morro Bay)

A "quick" trip to The Cottonball in Morro Bay is never quick (unless you're super disciplined and never allured by fabric), but it is always so enjoyable. Their fabric selection is amazing, their displays are inspiring, and the people are incredibly talented and helpful.

Today, I stopped by for one simple fat quarter of a specific fabric to pair with another for a custom bird mobile order. I should have walked on with blinders given I only had 20 minutes. If I did though, I wouldn't have walked out with these great fabrics. Colorful, bright, sweet, playful... just like the little ones the birds are made for.

I'm looking forward to pairing them together for more whimsical birds and special mobiles. If you see something you like, let me know - the next one could be for you!

Have a laughter-filled weekend,

Molly

Oh, Boy! Oh, Boy! Oh, Boy! Boy! Boy!

I'm so excited about this new fabric that just came in for incredibly soft blankies and blankets. Can you guess which are organic? You wouldn't believe how lush the organic cotton sherpa fabric is - You'll want to cuddle with your little one and never let go.

We're rolling out some new items to be posted on our website next week. More here before then. Keep an eye out!

Basket o' Birds

Here's a sneak peak at some birds soon to be perched on lovely branches and hoping to find a home in yours. Make your own theme (stripes, polka dots, by color) or order a bird for each family member. Birds come in three sizes - regular, "teenager", and "baby".

The natural thought is to hang these mobiles in a child's room, but recent orders have been for bathrooms and playrooms/family rooms. Where will yours go?

Molly

P.S. Stay well. There's quite the bug going around.

We're Blogging!

Cookie+Curly has joined the Blogging world!

Our new website went up last week and what better way to make it feel welcome than to pair it with a Blog letting everyone know what's going on at Cookie+Curly. And, exciting stuff is happening.

Before we get into all the details though, please take a look at our website and the fun slideshow of bird mobiles you see in the sidebar. Comments and feedback are welcome and appreciated.

Next to come, details on our new organic line... Ooooh, aaaaah.
