The Sailboats are Sailing Away

I began making the Sailboat mobiles for all of you that have boy babes and didn't think a bird mobile would work for your little dude's room. {Birds work for everyone, you just gotta pick the right fabric... in my humble opinion.}

They've been so fun to make for you, especially the custom ones.

But alas, my time is hardly my own anymore {I'm hoping little Bridget will soon start sleeping more hours in a row!} and these sweet mobiles take a LOT of time to make. Since no one would buy them if I priced them to cover my time, I'm sadly having to pull them from my offerings.

The Sea Life mobiles are still up for grabs though, and talk about fun with the custom orders!

Sea Life Gone Purple

I had always assumed my Sea Life mobile would stay as-is, but then a recent customer opened my eyes to endless possibilities with her recent custom order request.

She loved the Sea Life mobile but wanted something purple for a seahorse-loving mama-to-be. The result, I'm tickled by...

I just love how the different colors and patterns make the little creatures jump out in a whole new way.

Have I mentioned I love custom orders?! So much fun! Thanks for this one.

What's next?!

Treat to Minneapolis

I just shipped out this sweet mobile to a lovely woman in Minneapolis. She is 34, pregnant with her first - a boy! - and has found so much excitement in decorating his room. It was a pleasure to work with her! I'm hoping this mobile is all that she desired.

She wanted a mobile this same style and branch:

but with these colors:

So... her mobile:

I just love doing custom mobiles! I'm working on a custom mobile now for a woman wanting purple seahorses. So fun!

Happy day to you all.

Wild About Sea Life!

A good friend of ours bought a bright-colored bird mobile for her newborn son's room, but when her first-born saw the mobile, he wanted one for his room! "Too cool" {at two years old} for birds, the mom asked if I could make something to match his marine-themed bedding. I jumped at the chance to make something new.

Thus came the new Sea Life mobile.

It's been up on the website for a little time now and getting lots of fun feedback from friends of Cookie+Curly.

When I asked what other creatures I should make, one Facebook friend suggested a Crab. Any other suggestions?

The mobiles are made to order as I can't keep pre-made ones on my website - a fun problem to have. It takes about 2-3 weeks, depending on my workload, so think ahead for showers, birthdays, or decorating weekends and invite some new Sea Life into your home.

On another note, I finally got a chance to make a bird mobile out of some fabric I got a few months ago. What do you think?

I love the fabric's sophisticated femininity.

This mobile is housed at "vintage, etc." along with some more mobiles - Go check them out, and all their other goodies!
