Butterflies Get Styled Up!

I've always enjoyed the concept of a butterfly mobile however I haven't always been jazzed about the design for my butterflies. I loved how this one turned out, but I think it was the color choices that made it one of my favorite mobiles.

Then, walks in my friend Michelle - a super-creative, juggling-a-million-things mom of three. Inspired by her suggestions and tips I came up with these new butterfly designs.

These butterflies are "free flying" in that they are not attached to branches but rather flit wherever the their little wings carry them. This way you can arrange them wherever you want - in a corner as their own flutter, or a little here, a little there.

Tiny crimping beads add a little extra zing to their already fancy new look.

And now there are three styles to choose from...

"Monarch-fly" {left}, "Pointer-fly" {top/right}, "Tailor-fly" {bottom/right}

Seriously though, if you have even one friend, you want to buy gifts. And what better place to shop than a local {to SLO, CA} event showing off the talents of a group of local mamas using their skills to add flair and fun to our everyday life.

It seems like every time I go out with my Dondi Bag I get a compliment. Well, as many of you have learned, I got it at a Stitch Market two years ago {hint: at about half the price on the website - read: deals!} and Dondi is finally back at the Stitch Markets!

It seems no little girl wants to be without this print! As my most frequent selling print, I thought I'd spread the word and make sure you all knew about this sweet fabric that turns into a wonderful "best friend" blankie, lounging bud and stroller blanket.

The pictures really don't do it justice - It's even cuter! And the quality of the cotton is incredible too so not only is the white minky on the back super cuddly, but the cotton on the front is smooth and soft... just like the little one it's made for.

You probably assumed I was going to mention something about nutrition here. Well, sorry to disappoint. I just wanted to show you some pics of an order that went out to New Mexico today, as a reminder that anything you see on Cookie+Curly's website can be ordered "a la carte" or just how you like it.

A. Small placed this order as she has a large, fun bird cage, but she had yet to find the perfect focal points for the cage. Soon, these Cookie+Curly birds and butterfly in Purple Pazzazz will find a new special home there. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

More Fluttering

More Butterflies floated away to... Shhhhhh. I can't tell. She might be reading this. But know they are in good hands until Christmas. Shoot, did I give it away?! Well, here's a sneak peak. 

I chose new mesh ribbon for hanging the butterflies as a) it makes it easier to hang, but b) it looks better than the floating branches as with my earlier butterflies.

This new butterfly mobile is very similar to the one listed on my website, however the person giving this gift wanted to personalize it by adding some fabric for the person's room, and keep away from certain colors.

The receiver is not a baby, however enjoyment will still be had as the butterflies are taken in from all angles.

AND, get ready for yet another product line from Cookie+Curly! I can't say a word yet, but I think it's going to be a really fun one, but this time, for the GALS, not the babes. 

Think simple. Delicate. Sweet. Cheap! Fashionable. Versatile. Fun! I ordered my supplies today so hopefully I'll have more to report on after Christmas. I'll keep ya posted!

More birds to fly away in the coming days. A "Mama and Girl" and a Solo Blue Bird. Pictures to follow - I don't want to spoil the fun for anyone reading this as I might have already blown it with the butterflies!

Rather Flutter Than Tweet?

Remember when I mentioned that my creativity got the best of me and I came up with a new product? Well, here it is! Introducing, Butterflies by Cookie+Curly:

 

Each butterfly on these mobiles are handcrafted and hand-strung from real wood with clear string so that they appear to be floating. The unique design of the butterflies and their positioning captivate a child's imagination as they dance with the slightest breeze making them a great choice for near a window or right above a crib. One can't help but be drawn in and mesmerized by their subtle movements. Just imagine...

Butterflies are made of insulated wire and cotton fabric. Wood rods are held together by satin ribbon. Each mobile comes with a hook for hanging.

Mobile measurements: 20" x 20". Butterflies: approximately 3.5"x3.5".
